The Greats Loved Wood and So Do We:
We admire those who were and are passionate about wood and working with it. If you are among those who work with wood, hats off to you. If you are among those who admire the special beauty that wood has to offer, hats off to you also.
We admire, even revere in certain respects the natural gift that we as a society have been given in wood. One of the chief aspects of wood that we appreciate the most is its wondrous versatility and the ever present beauty that accompanies it.
It is in the same manner of who we refer to as "The Greats" that we look at wood and woodworking. We strive to let each piece that we repair or refinish "be" exactly what it was designed to be.
We believe that each and every piece of furniture (or wood building material) is special in its own way. We understand the attraction to it and desire only that the piece be as valuable as it can be to the person of whom it's attraction holds.
Our desire is to repair or restore, and yes sometimes even fabricate, each item to the best condition possible for the benefit of it's possessor. We are careful to find out exactly what one desires for their piece and careful to do the work necessary to accomplish that goal. We keep in mind the state of the economy and the simple fact that we as a society are in great need of true value. Our goal is to serve our customers the best possible way at a comfortable price. As a result we offer a few options for refinishing geared toward keeping costs as low as we can and as stated earlier letting the piece "be" what it is supposed to be. Interestingly these two go hand in hand.
Our staff come from two ends of the wood/furniture spectrum. One is from the "old school" of wood working that has over many years has provided countless "country home crafts" the other comes from the finest home furnishings end of the spectrum. The mix is a turbulent tenacity to aspire for perfection while understanding the inherent value of wood's imperfections (that in truth makes it perfect)...evidence of it's creator. We are unafraid to use unorthodox methods to achieve our goal of satisfying our customers while doing so at a practical and reasonable rate.
